Amber Suspension warning light on the motorway

Hi,

driving home on Sunday I got the yellow suspension warning light come on while cursing around the M25 at 70. I slowed down, but the vehicle seem to be handling normally. When I got home I had a play with the suspension hight and it all seemed to go up and down and stay level. Just went out the the car this morning ands its down on drivers side. The front is worst.

Is this going to be an air spring?
Will a generic ODBII dongle display suspension faults at all?

Thanks,

Ian

could be but not necessarily, could be the front air block leaking - the one behind the front bumper.

Thanks for getting back to me. Ive seen a few people suggesting renewing the o-rings in the valve block. Is that something you recommend?

Also do you have any experience off changing the air strut. The seem to range in price form £160 to 300+
Are the cheap ones any good?

Sorry just noticed you are isn Aus!

mine does that occasionally, I used to worry about it - but 4 years on and everything still works.

Turn off the ignition, then back on - then worry about the next problem Wink

If you check the air block and its leaking, then changing all "O" rings would help. Changing struts is relatively easy if you are good with spanners and WD40. There is a how to on this site on changing them. Most would go with original or Delphi, varying reports on others.

Finally got some diagnostic codes for the Amber Suspension warning. Anyone have any ideas?

Going to take the cover off the compressor and se if I have the dreaded dryer end cap feature Laughing

Though I would just update this in case anyone read it and wanted to know the outcome:

It was a worn out compressor. Replace it with a nice new Dunlop one and yellow light gone.
