AMK compressor

AMK compressor

Hi,

Got a problem with my D3 suspension. For the last 3/4 weeks i've been getting a message on the dash- 'Suspension fault- normal ride height only'. It has over the past couple of days turned into that AND 'special programs off'. Fault code is C1A20.

Finally got around to investigating it today after buying a repair kit for what i thought would be a Hitachi unit, only to find an AMK in there. It's thrown me as i was prep'd to rebuild the Hitachi.

I now can't seem to find a similar kit online to rebuild the AMK unit. Is it a much more reliable compressor? Could it be the pipework around it that is the issue? The compressor kicks in 7-8 seconds after startup but then the error message comes up.

Any help appreciated.

You need to check the exhaust valve is working, had some where the valve sticks and pops this error up, remove the pipe and union from the housing and then just twist the valve cover off, check the valve is free, if not remove it and grease it up.
Make sure you put it back in the right place..

Thanks, will have a look at the exhaust. Have a feeling the fault code is different though?

Check the air reservoir for leaks too. That’s what mine was and it was bringing up the same fault as yours. I also have the AMK compressor which is supposed to be maintenance free.
