Annoying D4 Fuel tank compared to my old D3
So I've just filled my 2015 D4 from bottom to top, it was showing a range of 2 miles as I pulled into the garage
I tried my best, but could only get 70.11 litres of fuel in even though I could regularly get +80 litres into my MY08
Is the tank smaller in the D4, as I assumed it was the same size
When full the D3 range would sometimes show over 500 miles, but lucky to get 420 miles on the D4 range, even though I'm currently getting about the same MPG (D3 was a manual)
Thoughts appreciated Iggy/Ieuan

I think it's a smaller tank, I went from my 06 to the Adblue MY16 and find the same issue as you - but I wouldn't change DS3 TDV6 HSE - Silver with Alpaca (old one) Gone

Same size tank I believe, just that the later cars (with DPF) the "reserve" is set higher so you don't run it out
Adblue tank is near spare wheel

On my MY11 I have figured out that when the light comes on I have 10 ltrs in the tank and when the range drops to 0 I have 5 ltrs in there. I had the range roulette pretty well sorted for the D3 but not as confident in the D4.

Same for me Del on the D3, had 23 miles left last night on the journey home and tank range said 25
Just going to have to just get used to having a shorter range than the D3 Iggy/Ieuan

I found exactly the same when I changed from a 3 to a 4. You'll get over it.

I hate running with low fuel, I always get such an uneasy feeling.
I'll always fill up once I get to 1/4 tank.🏴

Always worth carrying a spare 5 litres in the boot, you never know when you are going to be low and get stuck in traffic for hours!

Generally I work on reserve of 75 miles/10 ltrs. When overseas and crossing borders where fuel is a chunk cheaper than the country I'm in it can get a bit squeaky bum time as the range miles drops a lot faster than the google maps countdown to the next filling station.

Don't forget the later models (think MY14 on) def adblue models the misfueling device was changed and to fill up from a can you will need the white filler cap to hand, otherwise it will take you about 1/2 hr to fill it up D4 Landmark MY16 Santorini Black THE LAST

Am I old fashioned or just pigheaded. Never let my tank go down to even the quarter mark.
Usually at half tank I fill up. Now 75 I remember the old days of condensation in the fuel from the tank sides.
Also spent my life supervising earthmoving equipment and insisted on filling up every shift.
Just my thoughts.
