Desporate times require desporate actions, a Jaguar XF 2993L Diesel that has been written off in an accident, as far as I know the engine runs, I would need to check it out more to be fair, but it was suggested that its the same engine as the disco4? Is this the case, I have no clue but if so this might be a solution to my dilemma if it is, does anyone know If these are sutible. Any thoughts are appreciated  the wife drove it now its a skip

Jag 3.0 are sequential turbo, so logic would say they are compatible, perhaps even easier to swap than the 2.7...
Never swapped a Jag 3.0 into an LR though... My D3 Build Thread

There’s xf engine by me still in car and you can see running I’ve spoke to him hes willing to swop all over engine parts so it can be fitted into your discovery 4
Only thing is he would need your engine down here
He’s asking £4K that’s including swapping everything over
Don’t know if you are interested
You can have all bits left over sent back to you or you could collect it

Thanks everyone, my head it totally fried now, I think Ill cool off for a few days now and hopefully I can think straight in a day or two. I have had a look but would'nt it be cool if we could bodge a list of all engines that could be compatable with the disco 3/4. I know its the unthinkable but even non landy engines, Isuzu are fitted to loads of cars like ford and other jap cars. Just wondering, not for me but for others with the same issue or wanting a replace or upgrade. I now Disco-mikey has a thread on a 3.6V8 anyway just a thought. the wife drove it now its a skip
