Posts in that linked thread indicate he's asking too high a price for it so hard to see how anyone can "help"...
 Cheers

Good god - those rates quoted suggest only £9K for a 3 year old D3 in the US

My Brother lives in Vancouver and has been looking to buy a US LR3. If the price was comparable to market values he may be interested.

Generally speaking, the price is dictated by the local market. The problem right now is you can go to the local dealer in my area and pickup an MY 08 D3 SE V8 (no nav demo model) for $36,000 US. So trying to sell an 05 for $20k in some markets can be a tough sell. The other issue is his mileage on the vehicle is high for the price. His best bet is to actually sell this outright with a private sell. If this was CPO'd or had an extended warranty, he'd get a lot more mileage out of his sale.

The best suggestion I would give hime is to go to a Carmax dealership. They will only take it of of him for trade-in value, but their selection of vehicles is huge and he can deal on the new vehicle.

I'm returning my (leased) 07 SE today - & picking up (buying) an 08 SE with 3K on the clock (+ nav & fridge) for $33K...

'Brass Ring' car to boot... means was not a demo or loaner - but some LR HQ executive's car.

Good deal - hope it holds up like my 07 did.

He should just keep it, use it to it's fullest, and get his money's worth!

I heard from somebody who made a living off importing US cars to the Netherlands that the max he would pay for a 2005 D3 was US$ 15.000,- and then it had to be nice HSE with low mileage.
He told me that when I just had bought my G4.

That's about right Roel, 05's are going for $13-20k at auction.

I'm sort of in the same boat as this guy, owe more than it's "worth" Confused but I don't really care because I don't have reason to sell it. I'm looking at it that right now it has cost me around $13k/year, not all that bad really, the pleasure of having it has been priceless Razz
