Another new D4 owner
Hi folks,
Fairly long overdue in posting - I asked some questions on here in my buying process back in April but never got around to posting when I actually bought the vehicle.
Well, time to rectify that. As of May I'm the owner of a 2016 black Disco 4 Landmark. It had about 57k on it when I acquired it, now getting up to about 63k after trips to Skye, Cornwall and Devon. It has been a fabuious car so far - on the last trip we were carrying our three kids plus two grandparents.
Have had some work done on it, but fortunately the previous owner kept the LR extended warranty going. At the most recent MOT service we also replaced the rear propshaft and the gear selector panel, both common faults judging from reports on here and both done under warranty.
I also (to my chagrin) discovered after I got it home that it was missing the spare tyre. Chalk it up to my eagerness to buy the car, but I didn't check it out beforehand. So I had to replace that - fortunately found a used wheel of the right size on Ebay, but it still cost a fair bit to replace.
Interestingly it also had its engine replaced (by a LR dealer, under warranty) at 17k miles. Otherwise it has a pretty clean and complete service history.
All that said so far it's been a great addition to the family and I'm hoping to keep it going for many more miles.

Get a spare wheel protector for your new purchase. You never know, the other might have been nicked!

Very nice. 8)
Though I’m not really one for the silver roof rails, but it’s set off great by the silver wheel detail, side step, fog light & grill trim, lettering etc ……. gives it a real nice look.
Enjoy. ...... always on the road less travelled 🚧
< ‘tis but a mere scratch …….. it’ll polish out.

Done
I'm pretty sure it was nicked, the cable on the old winch was cut. Although the new winch does have a kind of metal sheath that seems like it would cover the cable when the tyre is pulled up... still got the spare wheel protector though!2016 Discovery 4 Landmark black
