Another Suspension problem!
I've been getting a suspension fault "standard height only". (again!)
BAZ8046 ( top bloke ) plugged his IID tool in for me and got the following fault code:
C1A20-64 (2c) Pressure increase too slow when filling reservoir - algorithm ……."
When I start the car the suspension will raise and lower no problem, in fact if I raise the car first and drive off I don't get the error. If I don't raise the car first and just drive off the error often appears very quickly, after 10 seconds or so.
The compressor was changed about 12 months ago.
I have now noticed the dreaded puddle of water in the passenger side but think that's just another job on my ever-growing list...…….. If the compressor wasn't replaced so recently I'd be changing that. The fact the car raises and lowers fine on starting makes me think the compressor and reservoir must be fine. Could it be the puddle of water?
Any ideas on where to start my investigation?

Hi,I had the same problem last year and it turned to be a hair line crack on the plastic plate (quite common) as your pics illiterate, changed it for a aluminum one problem solved. I've been told a lot of folk buy a complete compressor not knowing it's could be something quite minor.
I got mine from (Original Landy air) off eBay nice people to deal with and very helpful this was for Hitachi model but they might do others

Do you mean the round cover on the compressor? where did you get the aluminium replacement from?

Do you know what type of compressor you have?
Is it AMK or original hitachi style.
(Will dig out pictures)
The cap is only for the original hitachi as the AMK doesn’t have that issue (plenty of others but not that one!)

Chris

We meet again not on PM.
To repeat what I said on PM, I think there are numerous AMK compressors that seem to die within 2 years of installation and I reckon this must be a result of another fault.
My issue I reckon was a corroded reservoir (about £120 to replace). You could take it off to see how bad it is (just get some new bolts!) or even pressure test it.
I am saving the pennies to swap it back to a hitachi as at least these can be refurbished.
Regards
Chris

Cheers Chris
Looks like starting point is spray some soapy water to see if that finds a leak.
Cheers everyone for help - great forum!

BOBBY,
Had the same problem. Plumbers use a spray can that will detect the smallest of leaks and is much better than soapy water. You will find any leak straight away.

That's a great tip, cheers Terry - I'll call my plumber mate to find out what that is
