Anybody know Southampton? |
|
Travelling on Red Funnell early Saturday morning(0800 crossing).
Looking to stop near the ferry terminal before boarding ferry for some breakfast.
Will be two disco/caravan outfits so need decent parking with no height restrictions.
I can see two Mc Donalds along the water front but don't know what the parking is like at them, one on a retail park would be great as their would be plenty of parking other than Mc Donalds own car park.
Will be travelling down m271.
Cheers in advance.

The Macdonalds on the retail park is west quay rd and is your best bet as plenty of parking, the other one is probably at millbrook and has a small car park and is accessed by a fairly narrow rd as on an estate so lots of parked cars to deal with.
Hope this helps

The one at West Quay (not millbrook) would be your best bet. Option to park opposite by Halfords.

You could do worse than the Beefeater on Romsey Road Nursling, SO16 0XJ open from 7am.
£8.99 all you can eat cooked, iirc £6.99 Continental, all you can eat.
Might be pushing it for an 8am sailing.

The best breakfast locally is actually onboard the Red Funnel ferries themselves. 8)
I would just go straight to the terminal and eat onboard, assuming full galley service is in operation.

Current status of Red Funnel catering provision.
"CURRENT UPDATES
Face Coverings must be worn to travel on our ferries, and in terminals from 24 July. Therefore all customers will need to enjoy food and drink on the outer decks if they wish to consume whilst travelling.
We are currently limited to offering prepacked food and snacks only."

Cheers all, used britannia parking at West Quay and the Mc Donald's over the road.
Got a visit by the friendly security guard as he was wondering who the two disco/ caravan outfits were pulling in at 0630 in the morning but all ok.
