I'm still not convinced these machines are any more than a PC with an OBDC interface/connectors and some software - in other words, its not beyond the wit of man to put one together for a lot lot lot less than the £1700 wanted by this guy

United Kingdom 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE Manual Buckingham BlueDiscovery 3

The Rover testbook is no good for anything after the Discovery 2, and even then it's very old hardware (386 Hewlett Packard based I think). Good for Td5 Defenders, but not worth £1700.

The T4 WDS is interesting, but you would need the T4 hardware and cables... hmmm..

Rovacom are doing some work on creating Discovery3/RRS modules now, but they're only in the very early stages, so it'll be a while before we see any modules.

As has already been said, Testbook cant be used with WDS. The newer T4 is needed. The T4s I've seen have all been relatively modern Dell Latitude laptops.

Think I'd question the seller's right to sell the disk, as it appears to be a copy -

THIS IS AN IDENTICAL BACKUP COPY OF THE ORIGINAL DISC AND SHOULD ONLY BE BOUGHT IF YOU OWN THE ORIGINAL DISC OR HAVE THE ORIGINAL SOFTWARE LOADED AND NEED TO REPAIR AN INSTALLATION OF IT.

Surely if you have a kosher disk that's got damaged, you'd be able to ask LR for a replacement copy at the cost of media and admin, just like if you'd damaged a music CD, DVD or even software CD?

Indeed, D600/610 by any chance?

ISTR that it boots some sort of linux to load the T4 testbook stuff, but it has been a while since I had a chance to play with testbook, always found rovacom to be better.

I was also under the impression that blackbox solutions were making good progress with the DIII/RRS stuff?

Is that what you guys are all gonna wait for ?

Danny.
