Anyone got experience of NextBase in car DVDs?
The title says it all really. NextBase look a decent price/quality compromise. I can't justify several hundred quid on a fitted setup.
Has anyone tried the infrared headphones? and the digital TV adaptor?

I have this one which I use in the D3 with a proper headrest bracket. It's the biggerNextbase with both digital and analogue tuners. It has a magnetic mount active aerial, which is actually pretty good although don't expect digital reception on the move unless you are in a strong area. The picture quality is excellent and it has the programme guide etc. Only drawback is that you can't use the buttons on the remote to directly select channels, you have to use the up and down arrow keys. It has a nice rubberised outside as well (if your into rubber) and a protective case when not in use.
The screen is a perfect size as well and has a mains adapter, 12V lead, aerial, audio/video leads, remote etc.

We got 2 from halfrouds that go onto the headrests the beauty is the kids can take them in the tintent alot more use than a fixed in one.these work off 240v as well and they can watch seperate films.

We have 2 Next Base DVD's which fix to the headrests. Had them in the D2 but still use them although the D3 has the drop down unit as one of the boys will always want to watch something different. Agree with Mick much more versitile as you can use them more or less anywhere. Mine have a battery which attaches to the unit.

They come with everything you need and the girls use them in the car and in our caravan (we don't have a TV!). They've been really good and the IR headphones are good too. We had to send one set of headphones back soon after purchase as they kept switching themselves off after 2 minutes even when they were in use (they do this when not in use to save power) but other than that, the outfit has been no problem. They are much cheaper now too, 2 years down the line! Now an ex-D3 owner after 7 happy years. Miss the car but not the big bills

Nice looking kit! Did you go for the "Nextbase Stanchion Mount"? Does it fit the D3?
cheers

I bought the stanchion kit and although tight it does fit and fits very well.
I don'r remember seeing them when I bought the kit so no. I didn't buy them. The mounts that come with the kit that strap to the headrests are fine though (never had any complaints from the back anyway!). The headrests in the Disco are pretty rigid being non-adjustable so I guess they don't wobble about much. Now an ex-D3 owner after 7 happy years. Miss the car but not the big bills

It comes with strap things to secure it to the headrests, but they also sell proper mounts that clamp onto the headrest. Countrywise has got this and says it's a tight fit but works OK. I've ordered one of these and will try it this weekend and will give feedback on how it went.
cheers

I've just bought the NEXT BASE SDV685 they work great, I've also had a mount (bracket) professionally made so you can slide the battery or just the unit on and stick the new bracket on the Alarm Sensor or dash board or any where you like. thus you dont need the straps that look 10/100
I'm having a new bracket made next week which will incorporates the Alarm so it looks like a real roof top model but you can slide it off any time you like for security .
I will email pictures and can have most tyes of bracket made to suit needs if any one likes ?Rob ... LR3 HSE AUTO.... Peasant chaser
Flip down Next base DVD,MP3,DIVX, FREE VIEW connecting to SatNav--might as well be hung for a sheep as for a lamb
