I have 100w folding panel with the cheap regulator attached to my caravan with a strimmer extension and an isolator switch inside the van. Very interested in anything that can help the disco when camping.

I'll also be following closely as I've just started in on a similar project for my trailer sailor but was planning a scaled down version for my Discovery 4.

So I have a plan to build a 280Ah / 3.5kWh battery system, into the Disco, that should power us happily for 2-3 days with 0 sun...
With lead acid bats 280ah wont give 3.5kWh of usable energy. More like 50% of that or you will kill the bats in a few cycles.
Even the best battery types you would be looking at 2-2.5kWh of usable energy but at greater cost.

Going with LifePo4 batteries, can use 100% of capacity, 3-6000 charge cycles, and safer than Li-Ion
First 1.24KWh battery should arrive this week, and will add on more down the line.Pre-Production
