Anyone know "Liftmaster" 2 post lifts?

Guys,

Looking at buying a 2 post lift. I want to avoid the cheap Chinese end of the market and want something that will safely lift the D3, but not mad budget.

There's a 4 tonne rated Liftmaster that's only a couple of years old at a fair price. I'm unfamiliar with the make, but then this is not my area of expertise.

Thanks

Liftmaster are a main supplier in the UK for Garage Equipment, most motor factors who sell GE will know of them, the company I just left has sold plenty of their stuff. They have been around a while so servicing will not be an issue

If you're using them professionally they will do all I need. Actually the local garage has one.

Which type? The AS-6140A looks reasonable and no height restriction.

Thanks. I found a couple of crap reviews for the 3.5T ones that I was looking at 2nd hand. They don't even sell them anymore. Seems mad gambling £800 and a 5 hour trip to get a 5 year old unknown quantity when I can have a brand new one for £1200 with a warranty etc.

I have 2 of them, and a single AS-6246/H1
If I could do it again, id have 1x AS-6140 and 2x AS-6246/H1. I prefer using the rotary ramp, as it fits everything. The 6140 is a big ramp, and only really suitable for big cars

Been toying with the idea of getting rid of one of the 6140's and replacing it with a 6246

When you say big cars, I'll be ok with the Freelander2's and the Defender on it? I don't own anything that's not 4X4

I can't get a Defender 90 on the 6140, nor lift a Freelander 2 on the designated jacking points on the sill. Perfect for a D3/4/RRS though

It won't lift a 405/494 on the correct jacking points, so the 6246 gets used most. It lifts pretty much anything I put on it Thumbs Up

I really hate this forum. I started off thinking I know nothing about cars and never touched them. Bought a Discovery and rapidly learnt. I decided I didn't like a £950 labour bill from Landrover for body off to do the crossover pipe. Thought I'd put it into a cheap second hand 2 poster. Last night DM convinced me to spend £1200 on one and already I'm thinking of buying the £2000 one!!!!!

Bloody forum!

(thanks DM, appreciate it Laughing )

I called at the local garage and they have a 6140 working full time for 6 years and no problems with it.

I spoke to the guy from Automotech on the phone who was very helpful. He suggested the 6140 and talked me out of the more expensive machine. I was impressed by that. I think if he'd told me to buy the other I would have.

6140 ordered. Embarassed
