Anyone know Predator Performance Lighting...? |
|
A question for you...
There is an Australian ebay shop called Predator Performance Lighting who provide HID kits for Lightforce at wholesale prices. I don't think they are LF OEM but their ebay feedback is excellent. I've sent them an e-mail with some questions but haven't had a response yet.
Was wondering if any Australian member knew anything about them and their products? Are they recommended?
The costs make a HID conversion of 6x LF170's worth considering...(well...almost...as long as I tell the wife on a good day...)
Cheers. The next American ex-pat that calls it a "truck" is going to find out what 2.7 tons feels like on their foot...

Hi JF - if it was on the Australian eBay - you can bet it would be sourced from China. So quality would be the big question... best to wait for someone that has actually fitted it on a LF170, on a D3. This might be a long wait!

Are they selling HID lights or HID upgrade kits?
The lights will be the standard body with globes and ballasts included, the kits will be the globes and ballasts only to suit the lights (H1, H2, H3 etc depending on the light's globe style).
Eithert way the kits will be the same and as said almost gauranteed to be chinese. Having said that, I have had a set of H1 HID globes and ballast kit in a pair of Super Oscars, and they are the best.

Selling the kits.
As for the Chinese bit...I'm assuming LF get everything from there as well...
The blurb on this company's shop site is very specific in saying that they are a HID upgrade kit designed for Lightforce. I.e. they place the globe in the right position for the reflectors to work at their maximum; there is no fiddling about with redrilling holes, modifying globe holders etc (which I have seen on other forums with "no-name" HID conversion kits) The next American ex-pat that calls it a "truck" is going to find out what 2.7 tons feels like on their foot...

Got a response from them (and an apology for taking a while to answer). They not only the sell kits but lights from the main manufacturers as well (LF, IPF, Navara etc). Answers to my questions are (slightly paraphrased):
Quote:the kit will do 2 lights and the cost if you buy multiple item is $ 225.00 per kit plus postage. and YES he fitting of the kit is very simple, as for the compatibility with the Lightforce reflector we have been selling these kits for 3 years now, much longer than Lightforce and NO we don’t have any issues with the focal point.
Shipping to Europe ranges between 115 to 140AU$
They also have a non-ebay site which has good info. Basically, these kits come in at just under half price compared to the LF OEM kit.
I think I will be taking the plunge on these very soon The next American ex-pat that calls it a "truck" is going to find out what 2.7 tons feels like on their foot...

Do they do the kit for the LF140s? I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.
