They are not allowed to remove the cover but they could look down the side of it to see if the pipes are actually there.
A word of warning.
Today I replaced my EGR pipes on top of the EGR blanking plates - purely cosmetic its still blanked off.
My EGR blanks are from BAS and are quite thick.
Now with the double thickness (plates plus EGR pipes flange) the original bolts are a tad short the - first one I torque up stripped. Fortunately there was plenty of good thread left so I replaced all 4 bolts with ones a shade longer (thickness of EGR blank).
Just something to "bear in mind" if you are replacing your EGR pipes for the MOT.

Mine has just passed an hour ago. EGR's blanked but pipes re-fitted on top of the blanks.
I was there as she (yes she) did the test and no comments about EGRs.
Much more interested in my brand new AMK compressor.
Anyway have a look at the link below about smoke test figures.

Do you think that those who have updated the halogens to xenon, having the corresponding washing of headlights, may have some problem? someone talks about the obligation to have the automatic leveling of headlight height, is it necessary to have this switchboard if you have a pneumatic suspension? Do you have any component to the car when the xenon comes from the factory?
thanks for replies!lost in translation!

In EU if the vehicle self levels , it counts as having automatic levelling of Headlamps, so dosn't need a switch.

if EGR blanked then wouldn't the engine management light be on?? If not on then it's probably been removed so wouldn't come on when ignition is switched on & is that not a possible MOT issue?
