Beautiful location but hotel can be described as ‘faded glory’ . The scenery and location make up for the faulty towers. Make sure you get the lake view rooms with balcony.

Yes stayed here took the dogs and had a great time. Yes a bit faded around the edges but staff and food were good. We got a free bottle of champers because it did not rain during our stay.

Stayed there in 2001. Lovely place. Main memory however is spending most of the day in the Birmingham car parks they call motorways. Had an evening meal booked but since we got there after 10pm the kitchen was closed so just ended up with a sandwich and bag of crisps in the room!

Rented a house there for 10 days last year- great spot if you like being outdoors.

We ate once and drank a lot at the hotel pub which had a great view.

Guess is would be good in a disco - I went up my old e30 bmw on stock 80s off-roader style ground clearance which was brilliant fun on the gravel tracks
