Anyone used Ebay roof bars?
I am on the lookout for some roof crossbars and have been trawling eBay for some. Genuine ones seem to go for up to £100 second hand but have spotted these
Has anyone any experience of them. look same as genuine but much cheaper. I am not normally a fan of non gen bits for my car but struggling to find any second hand gen ones(probably because its holiday season?)Previous Discos

I would look for new or second-hand compatible bars by Thule, whom I believe make the OEM roof bars - no doubt someone will confirm. The advantage of Thule Bars is that they often fit a range of vehicles not just JLR. Searching the forum for "Thule" throws up a lot of information.
Bars by Atera or Yakima are said to be pretty good quality, although I have no personal experience
I would avoid Chinese copies with no indication of manufacturer.

Genuine bars are indeed made by Thule
have a look at powerfuluk.co.uk for their roof bars. The site has a good reputation off Freel2.com for a variety of things and ive used them for various bits and pieces over the years.
p.s. ive no connection to them in any way.

I have the powerfuluk ones and they're fine for how often I use them. If it was more frequent I would lean toward genuine ones.

I've just bought a set, somewhat against my better instincts but I needed some in a hurry. To be honest they seem fine, I'm sure they Aren't up to the same quality as the genuine ones but they hold our newly bought tandem sea kayak nice and solid on the roof. My main criticism applies equally to the genuine ones in that curved bars aren't as useful as flat if you wish to move things like plywood sheets.
