I have one in my Defender TDI. It's slightly smaller and a bit quieter than the original was. Works the ARBs ok but still slow for inflating tyres.

finished the compressor today.(well it works) dropped the rear tyre to 14 psi and ran the comp for 2min 20 sec and measured pressure. it was at 38 psi so quite pleased with its operation and speed, just need to see how it goes on a trip and long term.

the Dec 2007 4x4 Australia magazine has a product comparison on air compressors under $500. They covered mainly portables with a few 'bolt on' machines. It said the winner was ARB High Output compressor. They don't give a model but it is 12volts, has a flow rate of 75.1 L/min and costs $349
