ATRs after 7.5k miles

Put them on in March, used once up & down the M6/M7/A9, a medium length trip then 6,000 road trip so 7,500 miles all in. They are uniformally down to 8mm, down from 9mm as new, so looking good for longevity. Assuming all stays the same then I've got 37,500 miles left in them so 45,000 out of a set, assuming changing at 3mm. So about the same as I was getting out of Wranglers.

Mpg on long hauls does seem to be down 1 - 2 mpg, I now calculate range using 30mpg rather than 32mpg, but when I look at the mpg figures it's down 1.6 mpg cf the 6 months last year doing comparable(ish) driving on Wranglers. Dont have a problem with that. Thumbs Up

For what I do I can't tell the difference between them and the Wranglers re noise or handling, esp as 90% of what I do is on CC at 60mph on the motorway, plus I know they'll do what I want them to do off the tarmac should I need it. Happy with my choice. Mr. Green

Gratuitious pic time, of course, from where they were most in their element, on a back road in the true Arras end of nowhere on a road trip. Laughing

Good info DSL. ATR's will probably be my next tyre, when the time comes.

anyone got the new Scorpion AT+?

I need a combined winter tyre but not sure about these, grabbers, duratracs, cross climates etc.

had duratracs on Amarok but got noise after 25K and lost 3mpg.

I have just had a set of ATR's fitted, quieter on road than my previous wranglers but noticeably harder on gravel roads. Re AT plus, the tyre company rang their suppliers whilst I was there to enquire, was told not available for a couple of weeks and would be around £200 each!!!
