Automatic gearbox vibrating on light acceleration

Hi has anybody experienced a problem with the automatic gearbox grinding and vibrating on light acceleration, the problem ha got worse now in that it also happens when traveling at speed but with light throttle, if you accelerate the problem sort of goes away until you get back on the throttle. If feels like getting oil on the clutch of a manuel gearbox, its the 2.7 diesel.

i am starting to think it maybe a mounting, just taken it into a Land Rover dealer, fortunately managed to demonstrate the vibration, left it with him so will advise what and if he finds

I had the same problem.
You have to check if your torque lockup convertor is working properly.
when at speed and applying light throtle, check if revs go up 100rpm before car accelerates like a slipping clutch.
If so torque lock-up in the gearbox is slipping and its of to the dealer i am affraid!
How is your MPG.
Slipping clutch means lower fuel economy.

Sorry, but what makes you think it's the gearbox and not wheel ballancing/ steering etc??
Just wondering?
Have you tried a change of gearbox oil?
When I had a slight vibration on accelerating from start uphill, the dealer suggested it was the gearbox and was needing an oil change ... at £150 Shocked
However I knew it was just a question of the wheel balance being not quite 100%.
Change of rear wheels to the front sorted it.
