AUX port being odd... (probably broken)

Hi all, been connecting up to the aux port in the D3.
Its the HK head unit, not sure on the model.
When I have an aux jack connected, i get 90% of the audio through the rear speakers, 10% maybe through the front.

Its not the balance setting, that is set central.

If i pull the plug out slightly, then i get audio through the front.

To me this seems like a faulty aux jack, easy fix. What i dont get is, if its a stereo jack, why is there front and rear seperation at the socket.

Cheers
Kev

maybe 2 or 3 problems.

I find some door speakers only work when loud due to broken wires into door

AUX Jack sounds like one connection missing.

put it on radio, quiet. Put ear to every speaker to check it works. If it doesn't.
Crank vol up and open and close door slowly

Hi Pete, apologies i missed something on the original post.

when listening to the radio, all works perfectly fine.

Im thinking, because I run the AUX via a bluetooth connector, I may just pull the panel off, and hard wire it in.

Is it easy enough to remove the panel from the rear of the center console?

Cheers

K

You need to remove the cubby box or fridge as there is one screw that needs removing from the back. You can leave it out afterwards!

The panel does need disconnecting, as it shorts things out when no plug inserted, but you would be better off wiring to the headunit for a shorter run.

Thanks again Pete.

I dont have a fridge, just a cubby box.

Do you know if there's a guide on its removal?

Cheers
