getting back on topic slightly Rolling Eyes Wink

Yes Mounty - it seems that it will have a programmable FBH operation from the keyfob.

The only thing we don't know is if it will be standard on all D4s or only on HSE or as an option. Thumbs Up

When you say aux heating, do you mean the Webatso fuel burning heater or just the means of remote control of the unit? I was under the impression that the FBH heater was a standard item on the D3's and therefore the D4's??

Park heating with remote control engine and cabin is listed an option on all 3.0 litre models for an additional £978.72 (inc VAT).

I wonder if the option is not selected, if the fuel burning heater is still there to assist in vehicle engine and cabin warm up on cold days (as per a D3).

Sounds rather expensive for the factory fit remote option? Is their an aftermarket version - perhaps easier to fit than in the D3 now that LR have obviously configured the FBH to work on a timer/remote Shocked

If you think back to the good old days when we could get our D3 FBHs working using the radio trick, I suppose they have now finally worked out how to do it properly.

I am quite sure, though, that there will be other solutions.

How's the rain up there - looks a tad damp! I was supposed to be heading up to Aberlour for a spot of fishing next week.......

Yes, we both remember the battles over that - mine worked with the radio trick, until the ever alert local dealer ignored specific instructions and updated that part of the software Evil or Very Mad The best part of a thou seems rather steep, so I suspect there may be after market kits?
Many flooded roads here in Aberdeenshire this morning- not a problem for the Disco though, but other traffic may be an issue, however it's eased off of recent - should make for some great fishing Very Happy

In the early days of the Disco3, some cars had pre-heater/cooler controls visible in the multifunction computer readout by the speedo - unfortunately LR had not worked out how to get them to speak to the heater; due to issues with the Canbus; but the Forum cracked it Shocked , well sort off! - the Canbus just goes to sleep after a while, so you could keep it awaake, but only for an hour or so by switching the radio back on after taking the keys out of the ignition & before locking the doors. Then, hey presto, the preheater would come on at the pre set time, engine pre-warmed, and better still the cabin was de-iced! It only worked though if you had the timer screen available!
Do a search of the forum as I am sure some members have worked out after market timer kits/remotes for it & Webasto themselves were apparently looking at it.

Yes, do a search as I fitted the remote and timed heater control to my D3. Not very difficult if you follow the post instructions properly. I've got it as an option on my ordered D4 as it is great.
Honestly Marge, I wouldn't have done it if I thought you would find out!

There is a very good thread HERE by forumeer STAPDLM, it details the diy fitment of an auxilliary remote for the D3 FBH.

Also look in the WIKI for a full description of the system.
