Hi
Hope somebody can advise or point me in the right direction. Cold mornings are here and fuel burner firing up OK. But I noticed that the exhaust fumes where coming inside the cabin Open bonnet and fuel burning running OK but around the exhaust box ( looks like an silencer) near the seams exhaust smoke was escaping thus coming in through the vents. My question is can this be fixed via a solder along the seam or do I need a new exhaust?

The flexi tubes are only attached with jubilee type clips. They don't seal very well even when new. Could it be a leak at the pipe joint?Richard

i have seen, spider webs, leafes, dust, mud, melted plastic intake silencers touching the exhaust, all causing smokeBest regards

I can see the smoke escaping from the side seam of the metal box only not the flexible hoses other than that it works perfectD3 HSE

Some two part epoxy like JB Weld might fix it. Richard

Its an exhaust, and being gas tight is one of its jobs.
So to save yourself and to stop your car potentially burning, I suggest you repair it or replace it.
Exhaust pipe is cheap enough on ebay, silencer is not essential if you wish to keep costs down, most small diesel heaters are are 22 or 24mm id.
Did you check the small rubber pipe leading into the heater? these age/leak spray fuel about.
