it is a reflash, but you have the original map and the tuned map available on the BAS box, so you can re-apply the tune if your dealer overwrites it.
Maybe Pete can answer this though - what happens when the dealer updates the software on the engine ECU after the BAS process has completed? Will your BAS box be able to determine the new software version and avoid bricking the ECU?

The BAS box first identifies the car's ecu flash and if there has been an upgrade it will not overwrite the BAS tuned file. You then e-mail Pete and send him the new file and he send you another tuned file.
