I know that BN has listed items that are required for Wales, but I was wondering if we could get together a list of kit with supplier details for users looking to start out with.
I guess what the adventurous D3 user would benefit from in their boot  Jim

Jim, there are some basics and I think it is a good idea to build up a list. Slimer I think has a good one already. I am only used to the pro equipment as apposed to recreational stuff.

Hopefully Si can provide the needful
Just thought that a list would be good to stop people picking up inadequate equipment and having to keep changing it as they become more adventurous.
Also would vastly improve off road safety if people were carrying the right equipment for the right job. Not forgetting the importance of qualified and experienced staffing for recovery situations. Jim

I've just renewed most of my 'recovery bag' as most of the old kit back from when I used to go green laning a few years back either wasn't up to the job or was slowly rotting in the corner of the shed.
I'll work out what I bought and post a list of where I got it from

Jim I think you are right the best gear in the world is still very dangerous in inexperienced hands.
For my part I have 2 12 ton strops with shackles rated 4.7 ton but break at about 30 ton, gloves, folding spade and a cargo net to keep it secure. I have bought all Black rat stuff as this seemed to get the best reviews, but it seems to me the more strops the better as the gap between cars always is longer than the length of the strops!
Our off road day highlighted the need also for a cover for the front of the car for wadinging to stop mud clogging the radiator up - oh and floatation tanks for Coffeecup : DS3 TDV6 HSE - Silver with Alpaca (old one) Gone

Wading is really to protect the intercooler and in deep muddy water. The bit we did the other month was only to make a point. Normally streams etc are not a problem.

Yes there is, but I don't know it  That is why I only keep the tow stap in the car, the rest comes in when I go off road. DS3 TDV6 HSE - Silver with Alpaca (old one) Gone
