| Are batteries covered under warranty? |

I haven't looked it up, but I'm guessing they'll not be covered under the factory 3yr warranty? Does anyone know? 2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE

Yep they are covered by the 3 year warranty.
Just had mine done last week, 2 and half years old and 110k miles.
Took the main dealer 2 days to test it though!!.. Current - 2016 Commercial SE
Gone - 2014 Commercial XS
Gone - 2015 SE Tech
Gone - 2000 Td5
Gone - 1990 V8 3 door - What a machine!

Yes they are, six months remaining of the three years, new battery fitted by LRA three weeks ago.

No start/stop at all, the odd false warning symbol coming up (steering column locked as an example) and a very slight hesitation when starting the last couple of mornings.
Interesting to read that LRA will replace the battery. 2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE

Mine failed on the drive, had the option of waiting for LRA or immediate AA, if your not going out LRA, they carry the battery.

I've had both my batteries changed under warranty at 2.5 years old.

Seems a lot of batteries on the MY16 fail around the 2.5 year mark.

Yes, not sure why that is.
LRA due between 3-5pm today with a replacement AGM battery.
At midday I had the warning text on the screen “Low Battery Start Vehicle”. It then died, so I got straight on the phone to LRA. I politely but firmly refused to wait until 7.30 - 9.30am tomorrow! 2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE

I was offered an AA man, the LRA guy was not in the area but was pointless him actually coming, all he could do was check the battery and find the same as I had, it was  he then offered to get it running so I could take to the local dealer who was closed and leave it outside on the main road.
They then suggested if I left it on charge we could take it down to the dealer in the morning of which a replacement vehicle would be supplied, all good so far, even took the driving licence details to arrange a the said vehicle.
Following morning, phoned the dealer, couldn’t look at it for 48hours and no replacement car.
Back to the AA who changed their stance to say that we were not entitled to a replacement vehicle. When explained that yesterday they could and that they had even took the driving licence details they then offered they could get LRA round in the hour and replace the battery.
LRA guy came, he only lives three miles from me, he said he was in Cheltenham at 2pm on the Sunday and didn’t have anymore calls till he arrived home that evening.

The LRA technician arrived at 3-45pm, checked the battery and alternator, confirmed it was the battery and replaced it.
Saved a trip to the dealers and the inevitable waiting around and faffing.
