Battery

Hi All
Just out of curiousity has anyone noticed how better your D3 feels when you put a new battery in I put a larger capacity one in and it just seems to run a lot better and the suspension feels tighter.
Is it just my imagination
cheers

What capacity does your battery have? I was just wondering about the available space for a lager battery.

I noticed a big difference in the vehicle after having a new battery fitted. Most noticibly was throttle more responsive and gear changes smoother.

Hi
The battery I put in has 100+ amps per hour and a cranking ability of over 900 and fits in there no problem but there are probably bigger batteries than this but it just seems that the suspension is stiffer, now whether that has something to do with the compressor getting the current it needs to adjust itself or not I just dont know but it seems better somehow and everything jumps into life quicker.
Ive only had my car for a year and a half so I dont know what it was like new but after four years the landrover battery has just given up so not really that bad is it

If the battery is disconnected this will cause the gearbox to become unprogrammed, it will then have to re-learn and could well be the reason why you are experiencing a difference in driving, especially if your style of driving is different from previous owner

I'm picking up a genuine LR D3/RRS battery from Equicar 4x4 tomorrow. £43 bid on ebay and it is mine Thumbs Up The original has lasted five years and is still good for a summer battery, so I'm happy to go with genuine Wink

battery

It wont make any difference on my gearbox it wont learn anything its a manual not auto
I started this thread cause I was curious if anyone else had noticed any difference when they had put a new battery in, I dont think it would matter what you put in there as long as it does its job the original equipment battery is made by Delphi and LR put their name on it and charge you double as usual.

I'm hoping a new battery will do away with all the HDC and other warnings on frosty mornings. I'll see if it makes any other differences after I've fitted it and report back Wink
