Battery Change Question

I have a 2015 HSE D4 with the main AGM battery and the additional battery for stop/start etc. I am considering changing the AGM battery with a like for like replacement. I am happy how to change battery but not sure if I need to reset the battery condition monitor on this age of D4. Any advice or comments on whether I need to reset and if so how best to do it would be very welcome. Cheers

Ideally you do want to reset as part of the battery replacement. I have a 2015 (2016MY) too.

Sorry, forgot to answer the second part of your question. You need a diagnostic tool of some kind to do the reset. Many people on this forum use an IID tool (£300+ second hand on this forum when they come up). If you haven't got one then you can see if there's anyone nearby with one or take it somewhere where they can do it for you. I do know that Halfords do it (or say they do) as part of fitting but charge a but charge for the fitting service.

It is not essential to reset anything, it just takes the system a few days to adapt to the new battery and charge accordingly, neither is it necessary to change the type or size of the battery in the CCF if you are fitting a similar battery, but with an Iid tool you can not only reset you can also check the CCF is correct for the type and size of battery you are using.
 It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.
