Battery charging through the 'cigarette lighter' type socket |
|
Ive got a Ctek charger with an adapter to allow battery charging through a 12v cigarette lighter socket.
I notice the loadspace on my D4 has a socket that isn't through the ignition (ie always live). Is it ok to use this as a battery charging point in an emergency?
I do have a 13pin caravan socket and I notice you sell an adapter for this purpose via this socket. Apart from the obvious point that this can be accessed and used while the car is locked, is there another advantage (or problem with using the std 12v socket) that would recommend me buying another adapter?
Thanks

You are very lucky if the 12v socket in the back of the car is independent of ignition - mine isn't and turns off a couple of minutes after ignition switched off. MY12 D4 HSE Ipanema Sand
