Battery loading always 100% |
|
Hello
I saw on my IID Tool, while towing my caravan, that the car loads the vehicle battery always to 100% and keeps it at this loading status. Maybe its because the plug for towing sees always load due to the Caravan battery charger or the fridge when it is being operated during driving at 12 Volt.
Does anybody has observed something similar? Is it possible by simulating a load on the conector plug to overrule the BMS and the mild hybrid functions so that the main vehicle battery is alwas at healthy 100%
cheers

An 100% charge will shorten the life of the battery, the alternator is designed to give an 80% normal charge for maximum battery life, even li-ion batteries are recommended 80% charge only for maximum life whether they are in phone or power a car although they can be charged to 100%.
The caravan charger runs off mains only. It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.
