Battery Power

Hi all, I will be leaving the car at the airport for nearly a month over christmas and was thinking of purchasing a solar charger to put on the dashboard and plug into the 12v power supply just to keep it charged while we are away, is this feasible or am I just worrying to much.

the 12v aux sockets only work with key in position 1 ..so your wasting your time there

You can make them live all the time with a little mod ..if thats the road you want to go down

Ok, thanks, do you think the battery should hold enough charge to start the car after that length of time?

As long as battery is in good shape it'll be fine.

I was advised, during a Land Rover Experience session, to lower the suspension when parking for a long time. Apparently, this prevents the system from waking up periodically to check the height.

Left my car for 5 weeks, normal height with alarm on, and no issues starting. Mr. Green

Left mine for just under 5 months and it was fine. The starter went around for a little longer than usual but other than that it was unremarkable.

I bought a couple of solar chargers for next time but that next time has not happened yet.
