BCM failure - Locking the car - no power. |
|
I will describe what happened to me, it may be useful to someone.
When I bought my used D4 right after I got home, the car blocked, did not respond to the remote control, it was impossible to open it.
I opened the door, there was no power inside, nothing worked, it looked like the battery was out.
Battery check, fully charged and working.
Of course, a complaint to the seller ... they give a replacement car, my car is taken for inspection, one week passes, I receive information that the car is fine, they did not detect anything wrong.
Their man walks my car to the house, gets out, closes and…. it is over.
Car blocked.
I agree to a price reduction and leave the car.
I read that the cause could be water in the sills and cable joints.
There is water in the thresholds, I remove the cause of the water leak inside, solder the cable connectors, clean all ground connection points.
The car has stopped blocking…. Until ... it blocked again after about two months, I disconnected the battery for at least 2 hours and reconnected the car worked.
Then it started to block more often twice a month, and recently even twice a week.
Of course, the readings showed no error.
I suspected a problem with the BCM, I bought a used BCM and when the car got blocked, it was replaced quickly and the car comes to life, of course, without the possibility of starting the engine, again replacing it with the original BCM, the car is dead.
I found a magician and made a clone of my BCM by flipping the software onto the one I purchased.
The car runs like new and does not lock up.
I will not write about what various repair specialists advised me and what the costs were supposed to be.
It took me a little bit of work and nerves, and was £ 250 (second BCM and cloning cost).

Did you have any problems with things turning off in the car, such as the climate control, radio or the instruments?

I haven't looked here for a long time ...
There were no signs of anything stopping, everything was working.
After the car was locked normally, it could not be opened, no power at all.
