That's quite a late swarm, we get them in May and June. Have they settled somewhere or just passing through? We have 2 wasps nests in the roof but they don't cause any problems so we leave them, the hornets seem to like it!

Thanks Paul

They seem to be passing through, very noisy !

I find the wasps are "unpleasant"; I have Bumble Bees in the roof, and I am quite happy to leave them to their own devices.

I’ve got a bee 🐝 nest in my garage roof at the moment. They are between the slates and the felt. I can hear them faintly munching away at something! Also got some honey oozing through the felt!

I’ve left them to it, they have been very busy in my garden. I just hope that the roof is not damaged.

I've got a bee's nest in a gap between my paving.
Also got one on the gravel where it meets the brick edging.

Happy to leave the nests undisturbed.... I'll leave them alone if they leave me alone!

But I also have a lot of wasps buzzing around my garage.
A close look at them yesterday and they appear to be feeding on the sap of the timber.

Oh, I also got stung yesterday when a was got down my t-shirt!
But got the thing out quick enough that it didn't leave it's sting embedded in my upper chest!

Not sure I would leave wasps nests. They can grow huge and they do lots of damage.

Got stung on the tongue by a wasp once that was in a sandwich I was eating - that was amusing

Bee swarms occur when the greater percentage of bees leave a hive with the old queen.

Only females sting, males are more laid back and chilled

ronp...you might find what the wasps are doing is actually chewing off a layer of the wood itself to take away and build their nests with...we eventually got rid of our teak garden furniture because it attracted so many wasps all summer long spoiling every BBQ or time sat outside...if it's the same you will see 'trails' across the surface where they have munched their way across!

I got rid of a wasp nest in the horses shelter over the weekend, a spray foam can from homebase sorted them out, the next day I destroyed the nest, but there wasn't any wasps there then..

We also have a bees nest under the garden, I'm just leaving that one and feel slightly bad and apprehensive about driving over them with the mower Shocked

For future reference, you can call a local keeper and they will come and take the swarm away.. not entirely sure how.. but they do..

By the time we'd arrange for a local expert to attend the scene to advise, they'd all vanished leaving no sign they'd ever been there. Shocked
