a ? or 2

so you have your standard map and a you get a BAS map emailed to you.

from what I remember there are eco maps other maps.

If you dont like your new map can you change it and how often? are there further charges? or do you get a handful of maps to try out?

what maps are there? (i'll try a search on that ?)

Not 100% sure what you're getting at Dave, but I'll try to explain the sequence

Firstly you "back up" your current standard map, using the interface sent to you, and then email a copy to pete

Pete will "adjust" that map for you, based on the vehicle age, type of driving your doing, whether you tow etc etc...and email it back to you (usually within 30 minutes). This new map will need to be loaded onto the interface and then onto your Discovery ecu.

You then drive your Discovery and wonder why you didn't do it sooner Mr. Green

You can at any time (usually just before a dealer service) re-load the standard map if you're concerned about warranty issues or feel a mapped Disco will get less respect from mechanics than a standard Disco.

Likewize, if your stealer re-flashes your Disco's ecu with an update or such like, then all you have to do is re-load the B.A.S map on getting your Disco home, no need for chasing up your mapper on the phone and re-organising a free re-map..you already have it 24/7

There is no other time you'd reload the standard map..it's really that sluggish compared to the B.A.S map.

I think Dave is talking about the possibility to choose between remaps.

The BAS box can hold up to 3 (or is it 4?) maps, with the first one usually being the standard factory mapping.

You can then load in another one or two modified maps and when you connect the box to your D3 you can choose which one to flash the car with.

Most of the time, most people will only be interested in the 'power' map, but some people may actually just prefer a very mildly tweaked map, giving just a bit more power, but potentially less consumption - hence the 'eco' map.

I guess Pete could supply you with both the 'power' and the 'eco' maps and this means that you could change your map (or even put it back to standard) as many times as you want.

Does this make sense Dave? I have this system (from another supplier) and it works very well Thumbs Up

BAS remap

Hi Pete

Just wondering:

1 - is it worth doing on a 5-year old D3 (V6 diesel, automatic gear box) with + 170000 km?

2 - what's the price these days?

Many thanks in advance!
Kind regards, dirk

Hi
Yes it's still worth doing as we don't push the limits to where distance traveled matters.

The price is £499+shipping.

Pete, I don't suppose your remap can deal wit a Mac operating system or does it have to be Windows based? And is the price still £499-00
