Bell Autos FBH Kit1 on Disco4 |
|
With some (quite a bit) of help from Pete I am chuffed I now have full functionality of my park heater!
Fitting was exactly the same as on Disco3 with only three wires to connect it fitts neatly under the battery cover.
A few changes with the BBS MSV2 and timed heater is activated followed by a couple of tweaks and the radio remote will now overides the time clock settings.
The Disco4 FBH operation is temperature dependant which means I cannot turn the heater on if the ambient temp is above the preset temp (7C I believe) but if the remote is operated when the temp is high (not sure what temp), the vehicle vents & cools instead.
I suspect that both the lower and upper temerastures can be changed in the ccf files but not tried.
Many thanks Pete for all your help in producing a usefull piece of kit.

Why didn't you just fit the factory fit timed climate kit ?
What benifits has this got over the original ? G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Hi Ade,
This will give over the factory kit the same as it does on the D3
3x start attempt if needed.
Fuel pump prime if needed after a long summers.
GSM upgradable that when kit2 is finished which should give options like, call or text to start, status feedback from fbh via text, text to "be ready/ hot" at a specific time and the module will calculate it's run time so if it can "be ready" with a smaller run time than the standard it will. The same on very cold winter days but the other way round so it may start before 30 mins and run longer to still give you the same cabin and water temps every day, day in day out, no mater what the weather is doing. Etc. Etc.
There should be many nete added features the gsm upgrade will give over the factory fit when it's all finished.

Thanks Pete
You beat meet to a reply but put it far more eloquently.
It is the added function of the yet to be fitted GSM module that atracted me.
