Best left to young people.... |
|
While she was being treated to new rubber yesterday,I noticed that there was fair bit of off-road crud underneath from recent jaunts,so I decided when I got home to get her on the axle stands, and have a good clean underneath.
Lots of awkward positions later, the bits you can't see we're looking pretty good, and after wrestling with the winch and wheel protector to get the spare back,I was happy that the job was a good 'un
I was careful with my (dodgy) back and it felt ok afterwards,so why am I walking about this morning like I've myself.....
I've still got to put the side tubes back on yet,and I don't care if I got the pi$$ taken out of me like the last time,I'm using my mates inspection pit again.... "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak out and remove all doubt" ?.....what rubbish...

I feel your pain mate, I'm having surgery next month to try and 'fix' my spine.
That's why I was thinking of getting one of these.

It might make things a bit easier??

I've got one
Works pretty well, when I first used mine I was a bit concerned about the possibility of water ingress in areas somewhat sensitive to the wet stuff but as it happens, no issues or problems arose.
I was encouraged to clean mine after its MOT - my indie said 'nice and shiny silver under there' - what he actually meant was..........it's plastered in salt. get it sorted !!
Point to note though, it wasn't quite so clever on SWMBO's Zafira - small engine in a large bay and no sump cover equals lots of space and the resultant water jets soaked everything, top as well as bottom. Luckily, other than a slight issue with the central locking (which cured itself after spending a couple of hours with the bonnet open), no ongoing problem.

I can't wait
It's getting worse,sitting,standing,walking about....nothing is helping.....
Anyone who tells you toothache is the worst pain is plain wrong, back pain wins by a mile.....
I might try numbing it the old fashioned way,bit I think its a bit early in the day....
The amount of rain we normally get up here means chassis cleaning isn't an issue, but it's been very dry recently.....I like the look of that chassis washer....I have a Karcher already so it would be a straight fit, nice find,I didn't know such a thing existed "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak out and remove all doubt" ?.....what rubbish...

The worst back pain I had was 4 years ago it want just before we went to Australia, spent most of the flight standing up but it did have its advantages when the saw my walking stick in Abu Dhabi we were taken straight through security instead of joining the long line of passengers. Displaced Yorkshireman.

I had pretty debilitating back pain for years. Took a lot of Voltarol/diclofenac but stomach ulcers limited that after a while.
The absolute best thing I found for it was a TENS.
I still have to use one when I go on long haul flights (when at the back) or hiking but it felt like I got my life back.
Best thing of all is no chemical-induced side effects. Black 05 TDV6 HSE Auto

Wife knows someone and she has agreed to see me later tonight....hoping she can help, but I think a TENS machine might be worth a shout as it seems to be happening more regularly.......
Another reason to thank God I don't have a Defender "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak out and remove all doubt" ?.....what rubbish...

Tell you what Euan I will swop you with my back surgery on Thursday if you want!!
Hope you get sorted. If yr muscles have gone into spasm then the Tens can be good. Unfortunately there is not one treatment that fits all back problems.

I usually find a load of Morphine and a few pints tend to ease my back pain Cheers Ian

Well,an hour of acupuncture, ultrasound and the gentle hands of a physio seem to have worked wonders....a load of muscles either side of my lower spine had gone into spasm apparently, but my back feels a whole lot better than it did.
She did recommend a TENS machine for use next time I first feel it coming on again,so that's next on the list, and showed me a number of stretching excercises too....
If that doesn't work,it's back to the Gin therapy "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak out and remove all doubt" ?.....what rubbish...
