Doesn't Huawei fall in to the Chinese "snooping" issue you previously mentioned?Visiting from rrsport.co.uk

Why not get one of these? No need of batteries as solar powered, no risk of hacking, although less accurate after dark !

The reviews say software full of glitches in use and only 50% power left six hours into a day. That wouldn’t be good if consistent ‘feature’ of the watch

Damn this thread! I’ve never wanted a smart watch, but now find myself wanting to head for the hills wearing a Coros Vertix with its super-accurate altimeter!

I had a brief look at the reviews for the Citizen CZ Smart Hybrid Gen 2 and they seemed to be decent (including battery power), however there were lots of bad reviews for the gen 1 versions, I'll have to delve a bit deeper into the reviews!1996 Discovery 1 300TDI ES Biarritz Blue, sold

Been out a while in USA, plenty of tech mag reviews online.
Same battery as Gen 1 = same problems?

Thanks, I only looked at reviews in the UK but after what you have mentioned, I think I will steer clear. I'm currently using a Fitbit Sense Version 1 but would like something better as the battery only lasts 5 days.1996 Discovery 1 300TDI ES Biarritz Blue, sold

I used to wear Shocks 24/7. Absolutely love their ruggedness and ideal for work
However for the past few years I've been wearing a huwawei GT2E and honestly it's tremendous. 14 day battery life, step counter, heart rate monitor, GPS tracking, torch etc. All the essential smart watch functions in a heavy metal case that feels premium. I look every other week to see if any new ones have come out I could replace it with but so far nothing seems worth it
I did try the Amazfit T rex given their write up about it being super tough. I thought it was useless. Felt like it was made out of cheap plastic, had no weight to it at all and the screen was awful
I'd definitely get another Huwawei. It's a very very good watch

I've ordered a Huawei GT3 Pro, can go back if no good. As the latest model it has the addition of a certified ECG monitor, which should be useful in the overall health monitoring side of things.
Good reviews around battery life, features, accuracy, etc. Gripes seem to be around lack of third party apps, most of the wanted things were superfluous to me. Not so hot on 'voice activated' assistant services either, another 'not bothered' thing for me.
Biggest negative, if true, seems to be around the sleep app. Not the most important one for me but if it didn't 'work', I know it will frustrate me. Apparently if you sleep for less than 6 hours it won't record any data other than you had "a nap". Given most people (?) get up for a pee in the night that will 'fail' pretty much most nights I reckon.
From a 'security' side of things I won't be using it for payments or such like (I'd feel a bit of a dick actually waving my wrist around at a pay station anyway).
It certainly ticked the most boxes from all reviewed, and many mentioned on here, and at a decent price point IMO. If I'm not happy with it then I will revisit the [way too] extensive Garmin range but they are getting on for double the price or more, or the Amazfit range would get another look at too.
Will feed back on my thoughts when I've got it and tried it for a few days

Garmin all the way for me, even though mine is old its still very very good, never leaves my wrist unless its to charge once every 2 weeks.
GPS on it is excellent so you can leave your phone at home if you want and the watch will still log everything and auto sync next time your in bluetooth range of your phone. The connect app is really usefull with the info it provides.
Not sure if it will connect with iphones though knowing how restrictive apple make things2011 D4 XS 305 MY12 - gone but not forgotten
