Horgabost , got lots of pics of Harris thought I`d seen nice beaches but South Harris takes some beating, if only it was another 20c warmer it would be like the Caribbean lol

Don't know what your on about, it's Hull looking over the estuary!
Heard the Western Isles is full of RV's and cyclists of Belgium, Holland, German, French and English nationality, you can't get moved because of them. Hogging up passing places to stay the week and wild camping on the machair and talk about rude and ignorant!

That's about the size of it. Tarbert is a one horse village. You've got Akrams, who's stuff has been in the display window for donkeys, Alex Dans, the butchers/store, a couple of Hotels, a Harris Tweed shop, the Distillery at £20 per person for a quick visit, a Calmac office/terminal and that's it. A few incomers have set up niche businesses, painting, photography, tea rooms. Very few local folk left. It's an aging community.
Stornoway is a bit busier, but apart from the Coop, a small Tesco, gift shops and restaurants, a garage or two, then that's it there as well.

So I think we all agree that the best view in Scotland is somewhere in the Western Isles

I am from Lewis, but I have to agree with you, Harris is stunning. Closest you get on Lewis is Uig area. How long are you there for? I arrive in Stornoway on Saturdays ferry.

We will probably pass each other on the A9, I see you are just along the road from me in Fife.
Glad you have enjoyed Lewis & Harris, even for me it is still somewhere special.
