Check your top turbo hose has not got a split in it, or the other two smaller ones on the passenger side of the engine.

Nice Snake
from experience possibly injector wear. Slight overfuelling leading to increased soot.
An injector cleaner may help if its only gunked up though.
Prob worth a try.If things were meant to be easy, then I will soon complicate them....
Please note...
Anything I say is only from my personal experience and knowledge..
I don't assume to know everything, and know there is a lot I don't know..
But then I could be talking .. O

+1 on the turbo pipe, check for cracks/splits. Common on the Disco 3.

If you find no mechanical problem try some diesel cleaner when you fill the tank then when it's all run through replace the fuel filter. Mine had the same on hard acceleration. It's not perfect but much better now. I also did a full filter and fluid service.

Can I ask how did you get on with this? I have a similar issue and the finger has been pointed at the turbo itself due to P0299-00 Turbo/supercharger underboost code being present and no apparent splits in hoses or I/C ....and theeeeennn......???
