Blackvue DR900S-2CH - Any experience ?

I'm thinking of getting the new Blackvue DR900S twin set up and wondered if anyone had tried this one vs the DR750S. Also wondering where is the best place to mount the rear cam to get the best view?

Many thanks

Not tried the DR900 but I have an earlier front and rear which I think is a DR650.
I mounted mine at the top of the rear screen and routed the cable back through with the rest of the wiring back in to the car.

That looks really neat and just what I’m after. Was it easy enough to get the wiring through front to rear?

It’s not too bad but takes a bit of wiggling to get it through the rubber gaiter from the tailgate to the car.
I pulled a string through first and then used that to pull the cable back through.
It awkward because the plug on the end of the cable gets stuck.
If you take your time you should be fine.

Update: all now fitted and I'm really pleased with the setup. Only item now is to finalise the power from the fusebox rather than the 12v aux socket.

DR900-2CH is a fantastic bit of kit. I have moved up with every dash cam released by BlackVue. Make sure you download the latest firmware. It is also worth purchasing the security kit that locks the wires in. This means if an attempt to pull it out of the car after a window being smashed etc it is very hard unless they have tools to cut the wires with as they will keep it ties to the vehicle.

I would also suggest looking at the BlackVue battery packs. Not the cheap one (£115) the more expensive one (£250ish) as this will give you approx 24 hours on a full charge of camera run time whilst the vehicle is switched off so no battery drain.

And forgot to add...

Having it at the top of the tailgate is nice, however due to the angle the camera covers even if you went to the bottom left (Looking from the outside) so it is within wiper range it will give you great coverage too. Make sure it IS IN the sweep of the wiper wherever you put it as dirty windows can end up blocking vision helping you to miss important things such as vehicle Index!

Luckily I remembered about the rear wiper coverage and after this mornings rain the footage has thankfully proven that I didn't wasted my time when choosing the optimum position. As we are off to the Spanish Landrover Party later in the year, I wanted the dash cams to record some of our time off road there. The basic card is a bit small so I have now upgraded to a 128Gb card which hopefully will record for a bit longer before it starts to loop. Thanks for the advice re the battery pack and security. It's something I will look at, but after this morning being tempted into ordering a GAP IID Bluetooth tool from Dan at Duckworth's (in case of issue in Spain) I think I will need to save up again!!

That was lucky! If you want the specific part numbers and the only website in the UK you can get them from PM me. There are knock off batteries on eBay but it's a very similar price for a moody product. Also with them you can stack so double battery life. It hides perfectly under the Pas seat!
