Bluetooth Phonebook Sync Issue
I have been unable to get my Orange SPV Smartphone to sync with the Bluetooth in my Disco and display the phonebook entries (despite the dealer claiming to have done the required software upgrade). I can make and receive calls but no more so I assumed that it must be down to the incompatibility of the handset.
However, I picked up a loan Freelander 2 today and my phone syncs perfectly with the system in this car.
If it works in the FL2 should it work in the D3????????2020 BMW X1 18d XDrive X-Line Auto

07MY needs the phone software upgrade to get the phonebook details to appear over BT.
I would guess yours hasn't been upgraded for that. Many there's a way to tell in the diagnostics screen?Bodsys Brake Bible

The BT implementation in the D3 and RRS is simply awful for the level of vehicle brand IMHO, as they said in the film Christine: "You can't polish a turd"Cheers

Anyone know if there is a way to tell if the upgrade has been done? At least this way I can be sure the dealer has kept their word.2020 BMW X1 18d XDrive X-Line Auto

Yes: if the phone book doesn't download to the vehicle over Bluetooth, the upgrade has not been applied.
paid Shuckers £50 today to download the bluetooth up grade - now the bluetooth doesn't work at all, none or our phone - which where paired yesterday, can sense the bluetooth from the car. it's like it has been switched off.

SM you need to make sure they applied the current firmware upgrade, not the previous one that was withdrawn as it apparently caused some 'issues' and shagged broke some bluetooth boxes allegedlyand theeeeennn......???

It would seem that the telephone module is quite sensitive when it comes to upgrades, and that things can go wrong. Back to the dealer, methinks.

I don't think the phone book is downloaded with the D3's system.
The BT system simply reads directly from the phones contact list. Phone memory not SIM memory.
can't win - why didn't they test for a signal, I when to Shuckers 50 miles away, because I was fed up with the sealers 5 minutes down the road.

Wonder if it is because my phone has an 'outlook' style contact list?
Anyone run a smartphone with windows mobile that does allow phone book access?2020 BMW X1 18d XDrive X-Line Auto
