Bluetooth/Multimedia
I have a MY10 which doesn’t have Bluetooth music audio capability.
I was wondering, if I bought and fitted a newer multimedia head unit, say out of a MY13/16 would that not only give me the newer media display, but also Bluetooth music audio?
I’m assuming the Bluetooth is in the head unit here......

Yes, the bluetooth functionality is in the head unit, BUT - MY13 on had completely different head and display units, also different programming in the amplifier and the communication protocols changed.

Have you tried searching for the vehicle on your phone's Bluetooth settings? Initially I thought that my MY10 HSE didn't have Bluetooth as I couldn't see a way to pair from the car, but after checking in the manuals the procedure is to initiate the pairing from the phone. You will need the PIN which is listed in the manual. No idea if this are a common, but I suspect it might be.

Steve

The MY10 ICE doesn’t do streaming audio (A2DP BT profile), it’ll only do phone calls.

Thats correct - before MY13 bluetooth was only available for telephone (handsfree) connection. Bluetooth audio streaming came with MY13 and the updated audio system.

But you can use a "bovee 1000" (search here) for have it!!!
1) It pair automatically when you start the vehicle and select iPod as your audio source
2) when you receive or make a call whilst listening to music, the in-car bluetooth phone system still work
