The camera doesn't come with the triangular plastic block, that's a BCB special. At the angle it's installed, the bottom 5% of the screen is the bumper (better than 50% when it was first installed ) and the top edge of the picture is about 2m back from the vehicle.. I'd say it's pointing in exactly the right direction. So yeah, if I had the towbar in place it would be absolultely perfect for lining it up.

Looking for something to mount an 8 " touchscreen to the left of the centre tunnel .
Moving closer to getting to try out that Fugawi package you recommended.
It's not complicated Dunc, I made it last night while watching the telly. Suitably sized electronics enclosure (I used the one I got the maplin remote control in for the FBH). Cut with a hack saw to approximately the correct angle sanded down to a flat edge, hole made with a holesaw, and then filed out to fit. It's screwed and supaglued in place.
