Some very sad reading on MACS (“Manoeuvring Characteristics Augmentation System"),and the 737:-

Pilots complained about autopilot issues with Boeing 737 Max 8s involved in two deadly crashes:-

No 737 MAX flights planned on my travels. Luckily Vietnamese & Air Asia buy from Airbus and Scoot 787s. Thumbs Up

Yes this really isn't a good situation at all, and very sad for the families involved.

I work with Boeing on a daily basis, the guys I deal with are devastated that this could have happened despite having no contact with the project themselves.

It's fairly well known that Boeing didn't want to do the MAX; they had been working on a 737 replacement for years, but commercial pressures & the 787 forced them down this route.

This article is worth reading:-

https://theaircurrent.com/aviation-safety/...e-737-max/

All in all a very sad affair.

Incredibly it would seem that angle of attack indicator warning system indicators on pilots display are not Standard and have to be "optioned" !!!!

It would seem they all have the system but you have to pay extra to have the warning on the Pilots display screen - few do its seems....

Is that the real video? There is a fake one circulating where a plane drops out of the air in front of a coach (proven not to be this flight)

It’s not fake if it’s the one I’m thinking of, it was a cargo carrier out of Afghanistan that crashed

There’s was a Kalitta operated 747 out of Bagram that crashed due to its load shifting (tied down improperly) right after take off. Perhaps that’s the Afghanistan video you mentioned? A 747 is slightly larger though than any 737 Mr. Green
