As CY and rogue said, it says that the system check has been completed satisfactorily. On earlyish D3s you used to have to "wait for the bong" before starting the engine or risk lots of unwelcome bongs, but AFAIK that's no longer the case.
Perhaps they did away with the bong all together once you no longer had to wait for it
I think all you non-bongers have newer cars.

20 replies in 4 hrs... that is worth Bongin about
I have worked out that as I have a petrol V6, my Bong must be for the system check before takeoff, and it appears that they have eliminated the bong in drastic cost cutting measures on the 07 model upwards...
good work guys.... What's the point.... it all comes out in the wash anyway!

I've always waited for the bong to go off before starting (a habit for an earliy model to self test before starting to prevent errors) so there ain't going to be any oil pressure when the engine hasn't started.

I've heard it's not safe and that in some states the police can check if you've had bongs before driving

If your all going to BONG on then your bound to miss something.
BONG One . The system check Bong. Turn the ignotion on and the airbag check light illuminates on the centre console top right. It stays illuminated until all the checks are done. The BONG arrives and the message centre says System Check OK.
BONG two - Outside temperature below 4 degrees C. The BONG sounds and a snowflake symbol shows in the message centre.
Mine is an OZ spec 06 S model but I assume most otther will do the same.
Only time I saw more BONGS than this thread was when I shared a house with a reggae band at Uni.
have fun allTDV6

I have never heard the bong I wait for the glow plugs, switch on, and have had no problems, even at minus 12C. Not sure whether the FBH is working, though
Can the bong be disabled?
