BONG when I start the engine
Is it just my car or does everyone hear a "BONG" everytime you jump in your car and start the engine? I don't see any warning lights (low fuel, low washer, suspension failure or other).
Perhaps I'm suffering Bong withdrawal symptoms What's the point.... it all comes out in the wash anyway!

The bong is to let you know that all systems are go and that you're safe to take off, it's standard on all of them 2007 Porsche Boxster (987) 2.7

I thought the Bong was to let you know that the glow plugs had heated.
I turn on the ignition, wait for the glow plug light to go out and the Bong, then start the engine. Never had a problem even on the coldest morning. As you slide down the banister of life

I had certainly always thought that the procedure was ignition, wait for bong, start engine and set off...
What the bong is for then.. 2007 Porsche Boxster (987) 2.7

There is also a Bong to indicate that the temperature is below 4/5 degrees C. At least that is what I assumed it was. Been wrong before!

You also get the Bong to remind you that the temp is below 5 degrees... that is accompanied by the '*' symbol flashing. As you slide down the banister of life

I was agreeing with you Bill... But I think the outside temp Bong and the ignition Bong are 2 separate Bongs!!! As you slide down the banister of life

You also get a bong if somebody tries to break in. Oh wait, no, that's the alarm 2007 Porsche Boxster (987) 2.7

I think the bong is louder.
