Bong, suspension to stops, hazards, central locking, etc....

Just leaving the Land Rover dealer having picked up stuff to change front and rear diff oils, and slowed to stop at give way when

BONG

hazards switch on, central locking goes nuts, dash lights all come on (or a lot anyway), info center tells me pretty much everything switched off, transmission is limited and suspension is lowering.

Can’t remember if engine dies or if I switched it off.

Scan, and I get all this, and this is all new since the bong

Scared the crap out of me.

Guessing might be the splice issue, but it seems a lot of errors

Anyone any other ideas?

Kind regards

Andy

Ps: timing could not be better .....

Worth adding, I had the IIDTool plugged in and trying to log turbo related stuff.

Any chance the IIDtool could have caused this?

Well you have a brake switch sensor fault and you were slowing down, braking?
Perhaps start there in case it started a cascade of faults. Also it's easy and relatively cheap. Smile

I did the sunroof drains, plenum chamber cowl, air con drains, A pillar trim as soon as I got the car.

CJB looked fine then, and the carpet isn’t damp up there; checked this afternoon!

Hope to everything it’s not that as it’s a Censored to refit.

Though it did rain heavily 2 days ago ... ... ...

But checked the cabin filter box as well, and that’s dry.

I had something very similar and it was a blown brake light bulb.

Seriously!

Well, the previous owner changed the rear lights for D4 style LED units, so no blown bulbs.

But I did change the brake light switch today, just in case. The one I took out was badged “Jaguar” rather than “FoMoCo”, so guessing it was the original, and it did look a bit chewed up around the case where the post slides into it.

Will cross my fingers.

The big test will be whether I get down to Cornwall on Saturday !

As a long term update, so far not had an issue since I changed the switch

Thanks for the follow up. Helps when people close stuff off like this. Glad your issue is resolved.
