Boot Liners: Semi Rigid or Mat?

Havng just off loaded my 6" rigid boot liner, I need a replacement that fits our criteria.

We use the seven seats often and ad hoc, but with the 6" rigid liner it was impossible.

Now, I am going to get either http://www.britpart.com/Accessory.asp?Page...oryRef=509 which has a 3" side and is semi rigid so could possibly be bent over, or http://www.britpart.com/Accessory.asp?Page...oryRef=511 which is rubber and I assume can be rolled up.

Both need to be stored behind the 3rd row when mooching about.

Any advise from Liner users?

I have a Hatchbag plus a rubber mat similar to the second you you posted.
Rubber one cushions the base & the hatchbag stops anything else setting spilled over.

Very easy to roll up and sit behind the rear 6/7 seats. Thumbs Up

Neil,
I have the Land Rover load space protector much like the first one. If it is the same as mine then you won't be able to sit it up behind the 3rd row of seats because it is too wide and too long. If it is of a soft rubber it may be possible to double it up but suspect you may damage it. I would suggest looking at them before buying, unless of course someone on the site has that particular make and can advise.

Trev.

Trev,

Good spot Thumbs Up , cheers mate. didnt think of the gap at the back. Big Cry

Looks like the flat rubber one is the better, or dare I say 'only' option then.

I'll go and have a look at one somewhere........ Bow down

I have the rubber mat (the second one in your options) and it will roll up quite easily. Its fairly tough and unrolls itself if not restrained but I would expect it might stow behind the third row at a pinch.

I have a flat rubber mat you mention and plan to change it for a mat with a lip on it, either the LR one or another make. I will just have to hack it, read modify slightly Shocked to fit around the dog guard mountings. (the new mat that is!) I'm not sure what the flat mat retails at but happy to do deal if you are interested Thumbs Up

The mat is out of my new G4 (may 2008 but only 2000 miles so virtually new)
cheers

I've got the Rubber LR Matt for the boot, it will roll sideways to allow use of seat 6, or it will roll up tighter and sit at a slight angle behind 3rd row. Not ideal but only tends to happen if we get extra passengers whilst out and about . . . .

All 7 seats full for a full day - it lives in the garage for the day Thumbs Up

£25 buys you a 4' square of butyl pond liner - totally waterproof (obviously) and indestructable - folds across in a flash allowing you to easily have one rear seat up and rear seat down - there is NOTHING easier IMHO

Neil, you may want to try a combination of two, similar situation to yours, I use the LR flexible bootliner (goes all the way up the rear windows, I'm sure there's an aftermarket part too) with the LR rubber mat for the boot on top of it (similar to your second one) that came with my 08 Very Happy

This way I have a waterproof base and protection of the third row seats from heavy items being thrown in (I often carry scuba gear).

The whole "assembly" rolls neatly into itself and fits the boot with all three rows in use.

Hi All,

Purchased a flat rubber liner off DaveM last night, just the ticket. Stop the crud from falling down the seats and rolls up nicely when 7 seats up.....

Thanks for the advice, I am sure newbies will find it helpfully.
