Bouncing at lower speeds
Hello,
I have a weird problem that is currently nagging me. I have a 2011 D4 automatic and I have a vibration or maybe more like a "bouncing" between 40-55 km/h. It goes away at speeds over 60 km/h. It feels like a flat spot on a tyre or similar and increase in frequency with increased speed. I can feel it in the seat and not in the steeringwheel so I assume it is in the rear. So far I have checked:
Harmonic balancer weights are loose and moving
Rear propshaft bearing looks ok
Rear brakes are all relatively new, including EPB and there is no heat at all
No play in any wheel bearings
Wheels are all balanced less than two months ago and pressures are ok. No obvious faults when inspecting tyres.
No difference in P or N
Car has done 260.000 km and is still on original suspension and drive shafts but I can not see any obvious problems when car is on the lift. I will try to move around tyres but haven´t done that yet.
I am a little bit out of ideas so anyone..?

Possibly water inside a tyre?
I read about this happening to someone and the symptoms were just like yours.
Can't remember where I read it though, not on this forum I think..Gone 2016 Landmark D4

I take it your suspension is working ok and it's not sitting on the bump stops.
e.g. in access mode, then automatically lifting at higher speed ?...... always on the road less travelled 🚧

Hi,
Suspension works perfect so no problems there. No other codes either.
Will try to check for water but it feels like a longshot...
Thanks for your replies!

The problem presented itself this morning. Got a call from my wife who was driving for work. -"Rear right tyre is flat, help". This is what I found:
and this:
I checked this tyre just a day ago. I assume it was damaged which caused the bouncing.

It did burst while being driven but att low speed. The sidewall damage is from drivning 50-100 m with a flat tyre.
