Brake Judder Post Ice Age Weather !!!!

Last few days encountering brake judder with vibration & wobble on the steering wheel when braking - brake pads not worn down, tyre pressures correct & no obvious signs of losing balance weights on alloys. Not getting any of this whilst normal driving only when braking !!! Banging Head

Starting to conclude that front disks have become warped - could this be hot disks after braking being cooled too quickly by the artic temperatures of late .... Shocked

Anybody else had same ????

Had exactly this on the way back from Tunisia, thought it was warped disks. Turned out to be a binding rear left caliper that was replaced, problem solved! Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

As DD says, get yeah to olde friendly stealer, it ain't gonna get better. My car went off on a flatbed twice for seized on calipers, limped it there once at 30mph max. 2nd time RAC couldn't free up caliper.

Had all the wheels off yesterday to check out - discovered that o/s front drive shaft is leaking AGAIN not 2 month after stealers fixed it so maybe issues in this department Evil or Very Mad . Beginning to think the 20's are giving the driveshafts a hard time , although the n/s is fine ?

Also took the chance to bolt on 17's with Continental Contacts instead of the 20's fitted with General Grabbers- test drive seems to show problem almost gone although got to go longer distance with more heavy breaking to be sure Shocked .
It appears may have some issues in the 20 inch department Confused although nothing obvious at the moment. The 20's have been fine on balance from fitting but question is can they go of balance through wear & tear even though all original balance weights are present and correct ?. never had such an instance but then in D3 land anythings possible !!!!!........

All wheels rotate all ok when static with no signs of dragging/binding calipers but then cold and nil pressure .

Thoughts ladies & gents ...............
