It obviously goes a long to explaining your good fuel consumption, the more you have to use the brakes, the less efficiently you are driving.

hmmmmm......
perhaps the fact I seem to average about 23 mpg should have been an indication..... but then that's probably the result of spending too much time the wrong side of 90 mph and I tend not to brake too much then! I also crawl in and out of Birmingham 4 or 5 days a week and that can't help much with brakes or fuel economy either!

Gears to go, brakes to slow.....
New pads = £150
New gearbox = £2500
I know which I would use.
